Faridabad, August 29
Two cases of alleged stripping of female students in Faridabad Model School, Sector 31, here by teachers came to light today.

The incidents occurred yesterday, but they came to public light today after the Haryana School Abhibhavak Ekta Manch took up the issue and launched an agitation.

The school management, however, denied that any such incidents took place and has alleged that it was a conspiracy by the Haryana School Abhibhavak Ekta Manch, which was on a warpath against the recent hike in school fee in the state.

The police has registered two separate cases in connection with the incidents.

One of the two alleged victims is from Class III. According to her mother (name withheld), she had not paid the school fee for the past three months on account of poverty. The father of the student drives an autorickshaw. She said she could not deposit the fee as the charges had been raised by the school.

According to the mother, she came to know of the incident when the girl told her about it on returning home. According to her, her daughter was stripped in the classroom by the computer teacher. After she stripped her daughter, the teacher asked the other students to say, “Shame, shame” to taunt the victim.

A similar incident allegedly took place involving a female student of Class V1 in the classroom. According to the mother of the victim, she also had not deposited the fee for the past three months because of the hike in the charges.

The shirt buttons of the student were allegedly opened. The mother further alleged that a female teacher stripped her daughter at the instance of the principal of the School, Shashi Malik. The principal, however, denied the charge.

The school management denies that such incidents took place. The management said it would get the allegations investigated on Monday, when the school opened after the weekend. The allegations would be investigated by a committee.

The police said cases had been registered, adding that it was still investigating the case.

The general secretary of the Haryana School Abhibhvak Ekta Manch, Kailash Sharma, said action must be taken against the teachers concerned and the school management. He also alleged that the district administration was conniving with the school management and not taking action against them even though they had raised the tuition fee illegally.

The manch today organised demonstrations outside the school in protest against the two incidents.
