Teenager raped by principal
Tribune News Service

Jaipur, August 29
Tension gripped Ramganj area of the city late last night after an incident of alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl by her school principal came to light.

As soon as the word spread in the locality, an irate mob gheraoed the police station and raised slogans against the accused. The protesters also vandalised two vehicles parked in the area. The police then resorted to mild cane-charge to disperse the mob. The angry protesters calmed down only after senior police and administration officials reached the spot and assured them of strict action against the accused.

Earlier, the girl’s mother and her relatives reached the school and thrashed the principal before handing him over to the police. According to the police, the accused, Ramesh Sain, hails from Haryana and has been running the school from a rented building at Ramganj area.

He reportedly raped the girl twice — first on Thursday and then again on Friday. The police have arrested him and booked him under section 376 of the IPC. Initially, the girl did not tell anyone about the incident but when her physical condition deteriorated she told everything to her mother. The report of girl’s medical examination is awaited.
