— A Tribune Debate

The Yashpal Committee on education reforms and the plans announced by the new HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal, have aroused nation-wide interest among parents, educationists, political parties and policy-makers.

Before Parliament and the Union Cabinet discuss these reforms, we thought we should start a debate in The Tribune to let the academia, educationists and commentators air their views through its columns.

An article “Evolving new university models” by Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia and three more by S.K. Mann, Birendra Kaur and Gurbaj Singh appear on page 11.
