Pokhriyal to be
new Uttarakhand CM
New Delhi, June 24
Journalist-turned-politician Ramesh Pokhriyal will be the new
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, replacing BC Khanduri who
resigned yesterday. However, the election of Pokhriyal as leader
of the BJP Legislature Party in the state here this afternoon
was not a smooth affair.

The World Drug Report 2009 released today by the United Nations
Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC) indicates though the global
markets for cocaine, opiates and cannabis are either steady or
in decline production and consumption of synthetic drugs is
rising in developing world.
