After innumerable rounds of
intense discussions over the past few days, Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh’s new government was finally unveiled today.
Besides the 19 ministers who were inducted last Friday, the
Prime Minister and Congress president Sonia Gandhi finalised an
additional list of 14 ministers, seven ministers of state with
independent charge and 38 ministers of state, who will be sworn
in tomorrow morning at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Ashoka Hall.

(Jalandhar), who was seriously injured on Sunday following an
assassination attempt made at a gurdwara in Vienna.

pay panel report partially notified

The Punjab government today
notified the conversion table of the 5th Pay Commission hiking the basic
salaries of state government employees. To be implemented with
retrospective effect from January 1, 2006, the government has specified
that the enhanced basic salaries will be available to the employees from
the July salary payable in August 2009.

flight at Delhi and his driver for the past six years, Narinder, was
driving the Honda Civic at a steady speed of over 100 km and in another
