Pak bid to disrupt polls
New Delhi, March 26
As many as five conversations between militants belonging to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and their handlers in Pakistan, intercepted by Indian intelligence agencies, indicate a serious bid by the ISI to disrupt the general election and target Indian leaders during campaigning.

ISI ‘helping’ Taliban spread terror in Afghanistan
Operatives in Pakistan's military intelligence agency are helping the Taliban continue its campaign of terror in Afghanistan, and other terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Toiba, which India blames for the Mumbai attacks, according to US government officials.

Allies leave Congress in the lurch

In a significant political development that may have an impact in Bihar and UP, the Lalu-led RJD and the Ram Vilas Paswan-led LJP have joined hands with the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) for the Lok Sabha polls. Announcing the new alliance to newsmen here today, Lalu Prasad said the SP would not field any candidate on the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar and in return the RJD and LJP would not put their nominees in Uttar Pradesh.

A police official said Abdullah Uni, district commander of the LeT, was killed in an encounter in Dooraswani in the Lolab forests last night. A soldier also received splinter injuries. The slain militant hailed from POK.
