Long march to continue
‘at any cost’

PML-N chief Nawaz
Sharif has said Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari was
shortening his tenure by reneging on his promises and thwarting
the popular will on independence of judiciary and repeal of 17th
Amendment. “I want him to stay in power for full five years
without asking anything for myself. But, I believe he is
pursuing policies that will soon lead to his ouster,” Sharif
said in a TV interview to Geo channel on Friday. |

Cong
unveils new poll slogan
New Delhi, March 13
Oscar-winning song “Jai
Ho” and its lucky mascot aam aadmi are the centrepiece of the
Congress party’s poll campaign. In the last election, its
simple one-line poll slogan,“Congress ka haath, aam aadmi ke
saath”, had catapulted the grand old party to power at the

Third Front falters
but seeks to spoil the party
New Delhi, March 13
Both UPA and the NDA put up a brave front on Friday but admitted that
the newly formed Third Front had them worried. While Congress and BJP
leaders are not ready to accept that the Third Front could influence
results in as many as 200 Lok Sabha constituencies, they grudgingly
admitted that the new coalition of non-Congress and non-BJP affiliates
could prevent the two main coalitions from getting close to half-way
mark in the Lok Sabha.
