Seminar on nuclear physics begins today

To explore new areas of research in nuclear physics, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is organising a five-day seminar, which would commence at the department of physics from tomorrow.
DAV exhibition on social science

Global citizens need of the hour, says IIT experts
Roorkee, December 21
"Time has come to develop global citizens. And this is the need of the hour," feels professor
P.K. Kalra of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Kalra, who has been working on the evolution of ‘global citizen’ concept for many years in the country, was in town to attend the 13th National Systems Conference being held at the IIT here.
A ‘global citizen’ would understand the culture and learn languages of other countries for larger exposure. This would help deal with the uncertainties of the world market and job sectors, he added.
