Samalkha (Panipat), November 9
In a gruesome incident, the wife and two children of a Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer were found dead with bullet injuries in their heads here today.

According to the police, 35-year-old Anju, wife of Virender Singh Sherawat, who is posted as general manager with the Haryana Roadways in Karnal, and their two children — Meghna (12) and Paras (5) — were found dead at their local residence.

Sehrawat informed the police this morning that when he returned home late last night, he found his wife and two kids lying in a pool of blood.

The police recovered a suicide note from the crime scene, in which a woman teacher of a local school had been accused of making their life hell. The suicide note read that a teacher identified as Vishwindo had accused the HCS officer of sexually harassing her and this had created tension in the family and there was no other option left for them but to commit suicide.

Vishwindo, who teaches mathematics at a local school, had recently got a case registered against Virender Singh at the Ghanour police station. She had alleged that the HCS officer had been sexually exploiting her for the past over four years on the promise of marrying her.

Virender Singh told the police that his wife had committed suicide after killing both their children. He said he returned home at around 1 am and found his wife and children dead.

IG Layak Ram Dabas, maternal uncle of the deceased, reached the spot and asked the police to register a case of murder against Virender Singh.

However, the police chief said a case against Virender Singh could only be registered after conducting through investigations into the matter. The police said the licensed revolver from which the shots were fired had been recovered from the spot. A team of forensic experts also reached there to examine the crime spot.
