PM leaves for Oman, Qatar today

New Delhi, November 7
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh leaves on a three-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman and Emirate of Qatar tomorrow to further boost the bilateral ties between the countries.

It will be the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Qatar and would help further cement the economic and security ties between the two countries. The visit comes to an end on November 10.

The Prime Minister would be accompanied by a high-powered delegation that would include commerce minister Kamal Nath, minister for overseas affairs Vylar Ravi and minister of state for external affairs E. Ahmed besides high ranking officials from the ministries concerned. During the visit to the Sultanate of Oman, the Prime Minister will have an audience with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and will also hold detailed discussions on bilateral relationship with His Highness Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Fahd Mahmoud Al Said.

In Qatar, as in Oman, the Prime Minister will have an audience with the Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani and will also hold discussions with Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassam bin Jabor al Thani.
