MC gets ‘serious’ about rainwater harvesting
Jalandhar, November 6
Taking a harsh decision, the town planning section of the municipal corporation on Wednesday issued directives to the owners of all under-construction commercial buildings coming up in an area exceeding 500 sq yds to install a rainwater harvesting system, failing which they will not be issued a completion certificate.

Plan to install 175 CCTVs in city

In an effort to review security arrangements of the city, the city police will shortly install 175 close circuit TVs at various strategic points. The police authorities have even sent a proposal in this pretext to the police department.

Dr Harpreet Singh, joint replacement surgeon at Orthonova Hospital, Jalandhar, added another feather to his cap by performing a rare knee replacement operation on 91-year-old Kirpal Kaur.
