unrest in Jammu and Kashmir over the Amarnath land row refusing to die down, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today asked political parties to rise above narrow considerations and help the Centre find a permanent solution to the problems in state, cautioning that dividing people in the name of religion could complicate matters.

Saudi Arabian intelligence chief in Pakistan
Islamabad, August 15
Saudi Arabia today rushed its intelligence chief to Pakistan to broker a deal between embattled President Pervez Musharraf and the ruling coalition that plans to launch impeachment proceedings against him next week, media reports said.
