Bomb found in Surat, defused

Surat, August 9
A bomb was found today near Amroli Bridge in Katargam area of Surat. “We have found a bomb from Katargam area. It is similar to the ones that were found earlier. We have defused it,” Deputy Commissioner of Police V Chandrasekhar said. “The bomb squad opened the packet and defused it," he said. The bomb was found outside Lord Hanuman temple which devotees throng on Saturday.

Ten country bombs and explosive material were also seized from the premises of a temple at Azhinjilam, near Kozhikode, today. Bombs were found lying in a bag inside the temple premises yesterday also. Police searched the area thoroughly and found another bag containing explosive material from outside the temple today. The bombs were later defused. — PTI
