Mumbai, July 27
The anti-terror squad and cyber crime cell of the Mumbai police today raided a flat in the suburb of Sanpada in Navi Mumbai, after an email allegedly sent by the “Indian Mujahideen” claiming responsibility for yesterday’s bomb blasts in Ahmedabad was traced to a computer here.

According to the police, sleuths probing the blasts traced the email on the basis of the internet protocol address obtained after verifying the mail. However, investigators found an American national living in the flat.

Police said the man identified as Q Kallis (48) claimed that his email was hacked by whoever sent the email to the television channels. The American, a long-time resident on a work visa, is a tenant in the combined flats 1503-1504 at the C Wing of Gunina Co-operative Housing Society building located on the posh Palm Beach road area of Navi Mumbai. Police said the owners of the flat are Abhishek Sharma and his wife Mamta who are residents of Delhi. The police has taken passport and visa details of Kallis and his family.

Police swooped down on the flat shortly after midnight and were still questioning the residents. There is tight security outside the building and nobody is being allowed inside. Authorities have also seized computers and other electronic equipment on the premises.
