Pulling out all stops in their attempt to bring down the UPA regime, the Left parties today intensified their campaign to woo fence-sitters on the trust vote in the Lok Sabha and declared that they did not mind voting along with the BJP in the trial of strength if the Manmohan Singh government could be dislodged.

What is the connection between ovens, coat hangers and an aircraft? Well, ovens and coat hangers add to the aircraft's weight and it is not a joke. Considering that cost of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) accounts for major part of operational costs and more an aircraft weighs more jet fuel it will conume, airlines are now trying every possible way to reduce in-flight weight and save on fuel.

CJI asked to recuse himself

New Delhi, July 17
High drama was witnessed in the Supreme Court today during the hearing on the multi-crore provident fund scam in Uttar Pradesh allegedly also involving judges, when a senior counsel asked Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan to recuse himself from hearing the matter. A miffed CJI told counsel Shanti Bhushan that he had taken some decision on the administrative side and if he (CJI) had to recuse himself then an amended prayer had to be filed.
