New Delhi, June 13
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested Krishna, the compounder of Dr Rajesh Talwar in the twin murder case of Arushi and Hemraj.
The arrest was made after analysing in detail the polygraph, narco tests and psycho analysis of Krishna which were conducted recently.
The joint director of the CBI Arun Kumar Jha, who is heading the investigation, said that Krishna had revealed several names in connection with the twin murder which rocked the NCR region. However, he did not reveal the motive behind the murder.
The CBI also detained Raj Kumar who works as a domestic help with Dr Durrani, a close family friend of the Talwars.
Meanwhile, the family of Krishna claimed that he was being framed in the case. The CBI denied this and said that the investigative agency had ample forensic evidence. CBI sources said that apart from the charge of murder, Krishna was also being accused of conspiracy and hiding facts from the law.
Krishna, who was earlier taken into custody by the Noida police, was in the hands of the CBI since June 1.
Meanwhile, the family and relatives of Dr Talwar said that this new development was encouraging and they had full faith in the CBI to bring out the truth. Dr Talwar is in judicial custody.
The bail application of Dr Talwar is scheduled to come up before the CBI court in Karkardooma on June 26.
Sources in the CBI informed that a “khukhri” had been used to murder Arushi.
On June 11, after nine days of detention, the CBI admitted for the first time that Krishna alias Kishan had been subjected to 'various tests' to verify the various contradictions found in his statements given to the Noida police.
He had been later taken to Bangalore for “further tests”. In its defence, the CBI had emphasised that “the tests were being conducted as per Krishna's consent and under the provisions of various laws and that the CBI court has also been informed about this.”
