“Hobbies don’t require time but passion to fulfil them,” says Sartaj Singh Bhatia, an elderly in his sixties who is recognised from his rare collection of odd old coins and currency notes. Bhatia owns around 400 old coins representing different years, developments, religions, dynasties and much more.

Spring Bonanza for kids 

Jalandhar, March 13
A summer camp, Spring Bonanza, concluded at Eklavya School here on Thursday. Children from different schools participated in activities like art and craft, music, dance, karate and sculpture. The kids got tips on making toys, using clay and cotton. Tiny tots got a chance to learn paper folding, hand and thumb printing. The senior children made flowers from tissue paper, wall-hanging from matchsticks and multi-utility jute bags. Children were also shown some educational CDs.

Sexual abuse charge against coach

Even as the district administration and education department have been conducting inquiry into the media reports on sexual harassment allegations by students of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden, against a kho-kho coach, the DEO (secondary) today said no complaint of the sort had come to his notice as yet.

Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) won the All-India Sports Festival Inter Spardha-2008 held at IT Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, from March 6 to 9 by winning the football event and becoming runners-up in the cricket event.
