The Supreme Court today decried Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray for “instigating” workers of his party to attack North Indians living in the state and termed the emergence of such tendencies as “dangerous” for the country.

PPP’s Fahim may be PM
Makhdoom Amin Fahim, vice chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), appeared to have won support to be the party’s consensus candidate for the Prime Minister’s post at a meeting of its parliamentary party here today. The meeting, however, withheld the announcement of the name and authorised PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari to do that at an appropriate time.

The Punjab government is trying to find a way out of the controversy it has landed into after IG Rajinder Singh moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking a stay on the promotion of his batchmates - 1982 batch of the Punjab cadre. The High Court granted stay and sought a status report.
