‘Dr Kidney’ brought to Delhi
New Delhi, February 9
Amit Kumar, alleged kingpin in the kidney racket case, was today brought here from Kathmandu by a CBI team. The 44-year-old Ayurvedic doctor was brought here by a two-member CBI team in an Air India commercial flight from Kathmandu after the Nepalese authorities acceded to India’s request for his deportation.

Mulford was categoric that “it is now or never for the nuclear deal and if it is not processed in the present US Congress it is unlikely that the deal will be offered again to India”. “I do not believe the deal will be revived and offered by any administration - Democratic or Republican - before the year 2010, which is after the life of this administration, in India.

Baba Amte, noted social activist and winner of the Magsaysay award, passed away this morning at his ashram at Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district. He was 94. The end came at his Anandvan ashram in Chandrapur district where Baba Amte was based for the past several years after cutting down on his social engagements due to ill-health.

A major fire broke out at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium here this afternoon completely gutting its top floor and damaging property worth crores. There was, however, no loss of life.
