Jalandhar, January 22
It would be a union of two cultures and traditions at the local Desh Bhagat Yaadgaar Hall on January 25 when Pakistan-based “mass theatre”, Lahore, would perform on the eve of pre-January 26, as a salute to the revolutionary ideals of the freedom fighters.
An annual affair since 1984, every year the event is dedicated to one freedom
fighter. “This time we have dedicated the event to Lal Singh Dil, a renowned
poet who died recently,” said Amolak Singh, trustee, Desh Bhagat Yaadgaar Hall
Committee.

Scientific temper runs high

A two-day science fair, on the theme ‘Science and Technology for sustainable development’, was organised at the DAV College, Jalandhar. Students of more than 20 schools participated in the fair in which more than 100 models and experiments were on display.
Students of DSSD senior secondary school, Basti Nau, Jalandhar bagged first
position for their model ‘Disaster alerts and their management’. The model
was prepared by Dhanraj Verma, Jyoti Swaroop and Inderjeet.
