Mumbai, January 8
Celebrations were muted today after the Sensex breached the 21,000 mark as looming global uncertainties caused profit booking across the board. After touching a high of 21,078 points, the Sensex slipped lower to close at 20,873 with a gain of 0.29 per cent or 61 points. In the broader markets, Nifty gained 0.14 per cent to close at 6,288 after hitting an all-time high of 6,357 points.
