Assailant Kundu dead
Tribune News Service

Kolkata, January 7
The gun-shot injured lover-turned-assailant, Amaresh Kundu died last night while he was taken to Kolkata’s SSKM hospital from Bolpur in a critical condition.

After yesterday’s horrible killing incident at Visva Bharati, the students, teachers and employees and the local residents at Santiniketan came out in the open today charging the university authorities and the state government for ignoring the safety and security arrangements at Tagore’s seat of learning.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal government today asked police to submit a report over the alleged killing of a girl student of Visva Bharati university in Santiniketan by the driver of a city police.

“The incident is most surprising. Generally, such incidents hardly take place,” home secretary P.R. Roy told reporters.

The Birbhum SP has been asked to submit a detailed report on it, Roy said.
