Foggy conditions this morning delayed 50 flights at the Capital’s airport after a thick blanket of fog engulfed the area, reducing the visibility to 650 m.
According to airport officials, one domestic and one international flight were diverted to Jaipur when low visibility procedures were implemented at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Safeguard procedures were initiated at 3.40 am when runway visibility range fell to 1,300 m. The low visibility procedures was implemented around 6.15 am when the runway visibility range dropped to 650 m, allowing the use of only one runaway and airlines equipped with
CAT-III equipment.
