Schoolboys gun down classmate in Gurgaon

Gurgaon, December 11 Abhishek Tyagi, a Class VIII student of Euro International School, Gurgaon, was shot dead from a point-blank range by his classmates Vishal and Rakesh (not their real names) due to an old rivalry. The incident took place on the school campus today.

40 Tiger rebels, four soldiers killed in Lanka

In fierce gunbattles between Sri Lankan security forces and LTTE militants, 40 Tamil Tiger rebels and four soldiers were killed in island nation’s embattled north, the defence ministry said today. In north-western Mannar, at least 20 LTTE militants were killed and over 30 wounded in fierce gunbattles in south of Adampan today, it said.

Maoists kill 3 in Bihar

Three persons were killed and another was injured when Maoist rebels opened fire at a village in Vaishali district of Bihar late last night. The police said nearly 80 armed cadres of the banned outfit arrived at Sukki village, under the Patepur police station, and opened fired indiscriminately in front of the house of village mukhiya Indramohan Singh.
