In her strongest challenge yet to President Pervez Musharraf’s rule, former premier Benazir Bhutto today asked him to quit and vowed never to serve under the “dictator” after she was placed under house arrest to foil her plans to lead an anti-emergency rally, which kicked off here without her.

The West Bengal government does not have any information about the Maoists infiltration into Nandigram, the state home secretary, Prasad Ranjan Roy, told mediapersons at the Writers Buildings today. The Governor, Gopal Krishna Gandhi, was also informed accordingly.

Coming down heavily on the Ludhiana Administration for “not putting the house in order” in the Buddah nullah matter, a Division Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed the Ludhiana deputy commissioner and the municipal commissioner to be present in the court along with the managing director of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
