Wheat MSP raised to Rs 1,000
Rs 50 bonus for paddy

The Central Government today announced the MSP for wheat at Rs 1,000 per quintal. It also announced a bonus of Rs 50 per quintal on MSP for paddy for the ongoing procurement season.

Acting swiftly the Punjab government today moved the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s yesterday order granting permission to former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to go abroad even when Vigilance Bureau wanted to question him in connection with the Ludhiana City Centre scam and has sought cancellation of his bail.

Fert, Grunberg win Nobel for physics
Stockholm, October 9
Albert Fert and Peter Grunberg won the 2007 Nobel Prize for physics for their work with nanotechnology, the Nobel Committee for Physics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said today.
