A Patna sessions court today awarded death sentence to former member of Parliament Anand Mohan Singh along with former minister Akhlaq Ahmed and Prof Arun Kumar for inciting a mob leading to the lynching of a district magistrate nearly 13 years ago.

Mughalsarai stampede kills 13 women
Lucknow, October 3
As many as 13 (15 according to PTI) fasting women on their way to take a holy dip in the Ganga at Varanasi died in a stampede at the Mughalsarai railway station this afternoon. The mishap was reportedly caused due to the railways authorities changing the platform of a train at the last moment.

A fresher of an engineering college here was seriously injured when his seniors allegedly pushed him from the third floor of the institute building, family members said. Abdul Wahab, a student of Anand Engineering College, has been admitted to a private hospital with a multiple fracture on Monday night.

In a series of developments in the past couple of weeks, it has been found that mobile phone SIM cards, procured illegally and on fake names, are being sold to users at a premium by unscrupulous retailers all along the sensitive Indo-Pak border.
