Four members of Baba Balbir Singh group of Nihangs were killed in a clash with their rivals on the Baba Budha Dal premises here this evening. Those killed include Baba Assa Singh, father of Baba Balbir Singh, who has been declared as heir of Baba Santa Singh, head of the biggest faction of Nihangs in the state.

CBI books ex-Gen

Former research and analysis wing operative Maj-General V.K Singh (retd) has been booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation under the Official Secrets Act, CBI sources said. His book 'India's External Intelligence, Secrets of Research and Analysis Wing' had caused alarm in the corridors of power. He has been booked under Section 5 of the Official Secrets Act which pertains to wrongful communication.

Profiling Criminal Authors
Gurmukhi aids forensic research
London, September 21
In a unique scientific study, British researchers have used the Punjabi script Gurmukhi to help narrow down the identity of writers and develop a technique that could profile criminal authors of documents. Forensic experts at the University of Derby believe that a Punjabi equivalent of the English pangram ‘The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog’ could help profile authors. The well-known English language pangram contains all the letters of the alphabet in one sentence.
