Hyderabad twin blasts kill 41
Hyderabad, August 25
Two serial blasts in the city today left at least 41 people dead and nearly 100 injured. However, unconfirmed reports stated that even more could have been killed in the near simultaneous blasts.

HUJI activist Bilal key suspect
New Delhi, August 25
Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami (HUJI) activist Mohammed Abdul Sahed alias Bilal, wanted for the blasts on the Samjhauta Express, is believed to be the key suspect in tonight's twin attacks in Hyderabad, official sources said.

Bollywood star Salman Khan was today arrested and sent to jail shortly after he landed here from Mumbai to surrender in the chinkara poaching case in which he lost an appeal against a five-year prison term given by a lower court.

Pak test-fires N-capable Hatf-8 missile
Islamabad, August 25
Pakistan on Saturday “successfully” test fired a new air-launched cruise missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead upto 350 kilometres, the military said. The missile named Hatf-8 (Raad) “can carry all types of warheads and has an accuracy comparable to Pakistan’s longer Babur cruise missile,” a statement from the army’s Inter-Services Public Relations said.

To check the growing number of officers seeking premature release from service, the armed forces are seeking a “service incentive allowance” (SIA). The allowance is proposed to be paid after completion of the stipulated period of service.
