Ashok Malhotra, the prime suspect in the Capital's multi-crore land scam, was today arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation after he surrendered in the studio of a private news channel in Noida.

Punjabi varsity Registrar held taking bribe
Patiala, August 6
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Punjabi University Registrar Baldev Singh Sandhu in a graft case. Sandhu was arrested red-handed by a VB team at his residence here this evening while reportedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to save a college from disaffiliation.

Atta-Dal Scam
Minister orders probe into pilferage
Banur, August 6
Cooperation minister, Punjab, Capt Kanwaljit Singh, has ordered a probe into allegations that the wheat stocked for the atta-dal scheme had been pilfered from Markfed’s Banur godown. This inquiry will be independent of the checking being carried out at the godown by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau.

Dera chief directed to join probe
Chandigarh, August 6
Justice L.N. Mittal today directed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to join the Punjab police investigation on August 17 at his dera near Sirsa. Importantly, the interim relief granted to him will continue till September 19, the next date of hearing.
