Dua Choosing
a
President for the nation ought to have been a noble
exercise, but the people whose job it is to select
one have mucked it up. Their narrow outlook and
petty considerations have demeaned the highest
office of the land. It now stands shorn of the
dignity and aura it should normally exude. And no
actor in the power play is coming out with
reputation unblemished.

Only about a half-a-dozen Jal Murgis have been sighted at the observatory. The male Jal Murgi protects the eggs till they are hatched and, within hours, the hatchlings take to the water to learn how to swim, with a little help from seniors.

HIV
stigma: Father forced to deliver baby Two doctors suspended Lucknow, June 29
Chief Minister Mayawati tonight
suspended two doctors of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College in Meerut where
an HIV positive woman was denied institutional delivery by the doctors.
The two doctors who were suspended are head of the gynaecology and
obstetrics department Dr Abhilasha Gupta and junior doctor Dr Urmila.
The prompt decision brought some relief to the harassed family, which
went through a traumatic experience last night when the father had to
act as midwife and deliver a baby boy in the labour room.
