Prez Poll: SP hints at abstention

Samajwadi Party today sought to do a balancing act by adopting an equi-distance posture from both the UPA and the NDA and hinting at abstention as one of the possibility in the presidential elections while stating at the same time that Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat's stature was higher than that of the UPA's presidential candidate Pratibha Patil.

Amarinder’s bail: SC ruling on interim stay today

The Supreme Court will decide tomorrow whether to grant an interim stay or not against the Punjab and Haryana High Court order in which the High Court granted anticipatory bail to former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, his son Raninder Singh, his former media adviser BIS Chahal and former Punjab Minister Choudhary Jagit Singh, who are facing allegations of causing heavy loss to the state exchequer in Ludhiana City Centre (LCC) scam.
