One person was killed today and five were injured in police firing to quell Gurjar protesters who torched several government offices in Rajasthan's Bayana town, taking the toll to 15 as the agitation over the ST quota issue spread to several parts of the state.

The Punjab government today filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to Raninder Singh Tikku, son of former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, and Raminder Singh alias Richie, son-in-law of the former CM, by the Punjab and Haryana High Court last week in the Ludhiana City Centre scam.

39 convicted in fodder scam
Ranchi, May 30
A special CBI court today convicted 39 people of fraudulently withdrawing Rs 7.21 crore from Ranchi treasury in the 1990s but acquitted three others, including a former treasury officer of the charges.
