Dera apologises, but to Guru

Finally after 14 days, the conflict between Sikhs and dera followers seems to have ended, as the Dera Sacha Sauda apologised to the 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh following the controversy over newspaper advertisements that showed the dera chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh attired like Guru Gobind Singh.

Kanwaljit’s bhog passes off peacefully
Sangrur, May 27
Though the bhog ceremony of Kanwaljit Singh (who died in firing near a dera at Sunam) today passed off peacefully at Gurdwara Nankiana Sahib, near here, the hardliners later gheraoed the Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib outside the gurdwara and protested against the Jathedars of the Takhts and the Badal government.
