Punjab to probe fake killings
Chandigarh, May 3
Director-general of Punjab police NPS Aulakh today ordered an enquiry on the basis of reports published in various newspapers regarding fake killings by Punjab police during the period of militancy in the state.
SC gives Gujarat two weeks
New Delhi, May 3
Seeming to be satisfied with the progress of investigation by the Gujarat police CID’s special investigating team (SIT) in the Sohrabuddin’s fake encounter two years ago, the Supreme Court today directed the state government to submit the final status report in the case within two weeks.

Calcutta High Court today issued five-point directives to the state government for restoring peace and normalcy in Nandigram, which the courts noted with regrets, had been disturbed, due to political clashes over the control of the local areas by the CPI (M) and the Krishi Bachaoo Committee.
