The Gujarat government, which is under fire from various quarters on the killing of a Muslim youth in a fake encounter two years ago, today admitted in the Supreme Court that his wife Kausarbi reported missing since then could also have been killed.

India’s ties with Japan, ASEAN steadily improving

India is vigorously pursuing its “Look East” policy to forge closer ties with Japan and ASEAN for mutual benefit and the 16-year-old policy is paying rich dividends. This was stated by external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee, who addressed the Parliamentary Consultative Committee today on India’s “Look East” policy, including relations with Japan.

Dawood tentacles in Sirsa
Report exposes drug mafia, active role played by politicians
Sirsa, April 27
The most-wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim, besides inter-state gang of drug mafias and politicians were involved in smuggling of opium, heroin and poppy husk worth several crores every year through the district and other parts of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. These facts surfaced from a confidential report prepared by a senior functionary of the district police after getting inputs from his own intelligence wing and from the neighbouring states. The report prepared under the instruction of a DGP will soon be submitted to him and the state government.
