Rahul insulting Hindus: BJP
New Delhi, March 20
Taking exception to the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s remark that the Babri mosque would not have been demolished had his family been active in politics at that point of time, the BJP has termed it an insult to sentiments of the Hindu community.

Coming: New SEZ policy in Punjab with ‘uproot allowance’
Chandigarh, March 20.
The Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal today announced that the government will come up with a new land acquisition policy, wherein the farmers would be paid compensation for land acquired in accordance with the existing market rates. Besides this, farmers will also be paid an additional 30 per cent of the land cost as “uproot allowance”.

India ready for cooperative mechanism on J-K
New Delhi, March 20
Ruling out any redrawing of its boundaries, India today said it was open to "cooperative and consultative mechanisms" on Jammu and Kashmir involving the two parts of the state with the active encouragement of New Delhi and Islamabad.

Four militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit and two Army men, one of them a Captain, were killed in an encounter in Chottimarg and Anderbog villages of Lolab in Kupwara district of north Kashmir today.
N-deal not a threat to India: US

Ahead of the talks on an agreement to operationalise the Indo-US civil nuclear deal, Washington today said the deal should not be viewed as a “threat in any way to New Delhi’s sovereignty or its nuclear programme.”
