The Chandigarh Police today booked Ravneet Kaur (IAS), former managing director of Punjab State Industrial Corporation Development (PSIDC), along with its former chairman and four other senior officials, on charges of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said here today that the government has decided to slash the price of Bt cotton seed from Rs 1,390 to Rs 760 per packet which would now be made available through Markfed, Punseed and other authorised distributors.

350-kg statue of yaksha stolen

A 350-kg bronze statue of one of the four yakshas or guardian deities of Kurukshetra has reportedly been stolen from Beerpipli village on the GT Road.

Ash-Abhishek wedding on April 18 likely
Mumbai, March 17
The wedding of actor Abhishek Bachchan with Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai is likely to be held on April 18.
Though there was no official confirmation, sources close to Abhishek's family said the marriage is expected to be solemnised on April 18 at Prateeksha, the bungalow of his father Amitabh Bachchan. (Details on Nation page)
