The alleged killing of four innocent persons in fake encounters in Kashmir has not only put the J&K police in a tight spot but has also caused setback to the ongoing confidence building measures that were initiated by the Centre and the state government.

The poll observer for the Kum Kalan constituency in Ludhiana was suspended by the Election Commission tonight for “serious misconduct” of duty. Disciplinary action was ordered against the IAS official of the Jharkhand cadre.

Fertiliser subsidy to touch Rs 30,000 crore, says Paswan
New Delhi, February 2
Union Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said that the fertiliser subsidy is expected to touch Rs 30,000 crore in the next fiscal year, an increase of Rs 2000 crore.


Suicide bomber kills 102 in Baghdad
Baghdad, February 3
A suicide bomber blew up his truck near a central Baghdad market today, killing at least 102 people, as shoppers were buying household items ahead of the night-time curfew. Another 215 people were wounded in the gruesome attack in Baghdad's Al-Sadriya district, security and medical sources said.

No political games in Kila Raipur
