The Supreme Court today issued notice to the Centre on a petition challenging the constitutional validity of the new law on reservation providing for 27 per cent quota to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in institutions of higher learning.

Azad orders judicial probe into Padroo’s killing Jammu, January 31
Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today ordered a judicial inquiry into the killing of an innocent boy, Abdul Rehman Padroo, in a fake encounter allegedly by an assistant sub-inspector of police in Srinagar to get a reward of Rs 1.20 lakh.

Trident Land Acquisition Row 35 farmers, 5 cops hurt in clash Barnala, January 31
