Mumbai, December 22
Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi who will address a rally in Mumbai on Saturday as part of the campaigning for elections to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will have to do a bit of firefighting while in the city.
A section of the party leaders is planning to take complaints against actor-turned-MP Govinda to the high command. The actor, who has been busy plugging his latest film ‘Bhagham Bhag’ across the country, bluntly told a city tabloid that films were his first priority.
Worse, Govinda played truant even when AICC General Secretary in charge of Maharashtra Margaret Alva called a meeting of MPs and MLAs last week.
Angry Congressmen complained to Alva about Govinda neglecting his duties as MP. Govinda has been unavailable to voters. With his office unable to even provide routine help to voters, many of them are thronging Naik's office which continues to function effectively.
