Kot-Bhalwal jail riot leaves 36 injured
Jammu, December 17
Fifteen policemen and 21 terrorists from Pakistan and Afghanistan were injured in day-long clashes, teargassing and lathi-charge by the police to quell violence inside the high-security jail at Kot-Bhalwal on the outskirts of the city here today.

India, China ink MoU on oil exploration
New Delhi, December 17
India and China today signed a Memorandum of Understanding for strategic cooperation in oil exploration and production (E&P) activities in other countries. The MoU was signed by Petroleum Minister Murli Deora and National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China Chairman Ma Kai at Beijing.

A general court martial (GCM) trying a Colonel for allegedly sexually assaulting a lady officer of his unit has acquitted him of all charges faced by him. The trial concluded at Tibri near Gurdaspur today.
