Mumbai, December 13
After falling sharply over three consecutive sessions, the markets recovered slightly today, gaining 186 points mainly on the strength of buying in the closing hours.

The BSE benchmark index went on to close at 13,181 levels after swinging wildly between 12,830 and 13,223 levels in intra-day trading. In the broader markets, Nifty gained 48 points to end the day at 3,765 levels. Reliance Communication was the biggest gainer surging 7.4 per cent or Rs 29.

Grasim Industries, SBI, Dr Reddy's, Bharti Airtel, ACC, ICICI Bank, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, Tata Motors and Reliance Industries were the other key gainers.

Today's losers included ONGC, HLL, Tata Steel, Cipla, Hero Honda, Infosys Technologies, Wipro and ITC.
