The district police chief, Mr Hanif Qureshi said this evening that a compromise had been reached between Ms Neelam Mahajan and Ms Shabnam Singh in connection with the violent incident at the residence of cricketer Yuvraj Singh that occured last night.

Mr Qureshi said that both had decided not to pursue the matter any more.

Ms Neelam and Ms Singh both went to the office of the DSP, Headquarters, Gurgaon, Mr Narender Ahlawat, where the said compromise was effected.

Although Ms Singh was not immediately available for comments, Ms Neelam said that as Yuvraj and Ms Shabnam had expressed regrets and apologised. However, she said that she wanted arrest of Mr Ranjit Bajaja, son of Chandigarh’s IAS officer, Mr B. Bajaj, who was also involved in beating up her son, Sidharth Yuvraj Mahajan.

She further said that she had to relent under duress as there was lot of pressure from the district police and his DSP.She said that she, however, had her legal option open to initiate action against those who beat his son and misbehaved with her at the residence of the cricketer. She said that her son was beaten black and blue and her Toyota Corolla damaged by the “goons” of the cricketer.

She said she would wait and watch the conduct of the culprits as well as the conduct of the police. She said she wanted nothing less than the arrest of Ranjit Bajaj.

She further said that she had spoken to the Secretary of Board of Cricket Control of India, Mr Niranjan Shah about the misconduct of Yuvraj Singh.
