Visa norms for Chinese businessmen eased
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, November 20
In a move which would help ensure easier movement and stay of Chinese business persons, professionals and their dependents in India for bona fide purposes, the Centre today announced streamlining of the visa guidelines.

This streamlining has been done within the contours of an existing MoU signed between India and China in 2003, a Home Ministry spokesperson said here today.

To facilitate a relatively longer stay of Chinese business people for bona fide purpose, business visa of 6 months multiple entry can be extended here in India on merit up to one year. Similarly, business visa of 60 days can be extended up to 180 days and the entry can be increased from single to multiple here in India, on merit.

Employment Visa for Chinese Nationals can now be extended here in India up to 5 years on a yearly basis subject to no adverse activity and the foreigner continuing to keep his/her employment.

Dependents of ‘E’ visa holders will get ‘X’- Visa co-terminus with the duration of the visa of the principal visa holder. Chinese nationals married to Indians will also get ‘X’-Visa.
