Guwahati, November 18
An indefinite curfew was clamped after three persons were killed, two of them children, and 24 injured while a police station was set on fire in Assam’s Morigaon district today.
The police fired several rounds after failing to control a mob, which attacked the Moirabari police station. It was set on fire by the mob when the two children felled to police firing. Another person was also killed in the melee.
The mob also set ablaze some police quarters located near the station. More than 20 policemen were wounded when the mob attacked them with bricks and stones, the police said.
Among the two children killed, one was identified as Rakib (6).
