6 accused of Raghunath Temple attack acquitted
Tribune News Service

Jammu, October 31
Passing strictures on the police, a court here has acquitted all six accused in the 2002 terrorist attack at the famous Raghunath Temple here that claimed 11 lives.

The Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu, Mr Subhash Chander Gupta, yesterday ordered their release as the police had failed to submit adequate evidence in the case of the suicide attack at the temple in the crowded Raghunath Bazaar in the heart of the city. Two terrorists were killed in the encounter.

The court observed that the manner in which the challan had been prepared adversely reflects on the working of the investigating agency and the officers supervising the investigations.
