Rs 1150 cr Barak missile deal under scanner

In a major development in the Defence deal cases, the CBI has registered an FIR against former Defence Minister George Fernandes, his associate and former President of Samata Party Jaya Jaitley and former Navy Chief Admiral Sushil Kumar, for alleged irregularities in the Barak Missile System Deal worth Rs 1150 crore with an Israeli firm.

Two more dengue deaths in UP
New Delhi, October 10
The load on hospitals across the country due to dengue cases and casualties continued on Tuesday. Two more dengue deaths reported from Uttar Pradesh have increased the toll to 52, according to the control room of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme.

5 pc hike in DA for Punjab staff

As a Divali bonanza to its employees, the Punjab Government has hiked dearness allowance for them by 5 per cent from July 1 this year on the Union Government pattern. DA has now been enhanced from 24 per cent to 29 per cent.

Punjab mass cremations: Commissioner to identify victims New Delhi, October 10 The National Human Rights Commission today appointed Justice K.S. Bhalla, a retired Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as Commissioner to identify 814 of the total 2097 bodies that were secretly cremated by the police at the peak of militancy in Punjab.
