Badal’s convoy vehicle hits Canter, 4 hurt

Bathinda, October 5
The convoy of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal last night met with an accident near Bhokra village resulting in injuries to four of his security personnel. However, Mr Badal escaped unhurt.

According to sources, the former Chief Minister was on his way back from Hoshiarpur when a Gypsy (PB65A-7373), leading the convoy, collided with a Canter coming from the opposite direction on the Goniana Mandi-Bhokra road at around midnight.

The driver of the Gypsy, Mr Amarjeet Singh, a head constable with the Punjab Police, Inspector Amri Prasad, Ram Pal and Vinod Kumar of the NSG were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Bathinda. The sources said Ram Pal sustained injury close to his right eye.

The police has registered a case in this regard and impounded the Canter. The Canter driver, Rupa Ram, and cleaner Menga Ram fled from the spot.
