Stop blaming or produce evidence, Pak tells India

Islamabad, September 30
Pakistan today said India shouldn’t point finger at it without evidence. The reaction comes after Mumbai police blamed Pakistani spies and militants for a series of blasts that killed 186 persons in Mumbai on July 11.

“It is baseless, it is irresponsible and (done) out of habit,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said. An official statement would be released later, she added. Pakistan’s Minister of State for Information Tariq Azim Khan also harked on what he called India’s knee-jerk reaction in blaming Pakistan for militant acts when there were several groups running insurgencies there.

“India has always chosen this path of pointing a finger at Pakistan without evidence,” he said. “If they have any evidence, they should provide it to and we will carry out our investigations,” he added. — Reuters
